The winter season has one more month and we are already talking about massive curtailments in the renewable rich areas across the Lower 48. This week is especially heightened given that abnormally warm weather is pushing down the power demand while the wind output is making a statement within SPP and ERCOT.

The special report content covers what is transpiring within SPP as the current time period is displaying anywhere from 6 to 9 GW of curtailments will be in order on an hourly basis. This will be record setting so early in the year and to make matters worse for the renewable sector is the wind output is not lightening up anytime soon.
