The beginning of the 2024 summer season did not materialize as expected in Texas. Although the weather has been hot and demand has been high (before hurricane Beryl), and there have been plenty of days with moderately high evening prices, there’s been relatively little sign of the type of persistent high prices that had already shown up during many hours by this time last year.
In this report, we’ll walk through the net load breakdown for June of this year compared to the past few years and discuss where we are going moving forward.
